Following the recent cold snap here in the UK, it’s hard to believe Spring is almost here (it officially begins on 20th March). With that in mind, we’ve started thinking about how we’re going to celebrate the long Easter weekend and enjoy some precious family time.

Easter Activities

Along with a well-deserved lie-in and potential pyjama-day, a few things we’re planning to do in our household this Easter include;

  • A long walk in the countryside (weather permitting)
  • An Easter Egg hunt in the garden
  • Bake some Easter Bunny biscuits
  • Make homemade Happy Easter cards for loved ones
  • Invite family over for a delicious roast dinner

If you don’t have small people to entertain, maybe indulge in a Cream Tea or local pub lunch. However, if you’re looking for ideas or low-cost things to do with littles one’s this Easter, visit our Pinterest Board for further inspiration.

Easter Traditions

The tradition of giving eggs at Easter derived from the Christian belief that eggs symbolise the miracle of new life. However, the Easter Bunny originates from German folklore and only became popular in recent years. Today, chocolate eggs are often given as Easter gifts but this usually results in having a mountain of (unhealthy) treats to get through!
