If you’ve been following us this year, you’ll know we’re on a mission to become more sustainable. As a company that creates gifts, we are considering how our products do ‘more good than harm’ each time we develop new items or adapt existing collections, so please read on for our August 2020 sustainability update.
Reducing Plastic Packaging
One example of improved product design for 2020 includes our Naturally European Travel Collections. This year we’ve switched from the old plastic outer packaging (not commonly recycled) to a new velvet drawstring pouch, that can be reused and easily recycled after use.
Post-consumer Recycled Plastic (PCR)
Another development this year includes adding ‘Post-consumer Recycled’ (PCR) plastic into our Aromas Artesanales de Antigua hand wash packaging. These hand wash bottles now contain up to 30% previously recycled plastic, so we start to become part of a circular economy for plastics.
Plastic Free Products
We understand the need to use less plastic where possible, so we are currently reviewing many of our gift set designs (switching to environmentally-friendly materials where possible). We know we have lots more to do in this area but we are confident we’re heading in the right direction. If you are trying to purchase less plastic for your household, we already offer various gifts which are plastic-free including soap bars, soy candles and bath salts.
If you have any ideas of what improvements you’d like to see within our ranges, please get in touch (we’d love to hear your ideas). Unfortunately, Covid-19 has slowed some of our planned sustainability updates this year, but we can assure you we have some really exciting things coming along in the background. So in the meantime, please stay safe and watch this space!
